El Salvador (República de El Salvador) is a country in Central America, bordering the Pacific Ocean between Guatemala and Honduras, with a population of approximately 5.9 million people. El Salvador is the most densely populated nation in the Americas and is undergoing both rapid industrialization and population growth. El Salvador has a tropical climate with pronounced wet and dry seasons. Temperatures vary primarily with elevation and show little seasonal change. Most North American and European tourists are seeking out El Salvador's beaches and nightlife.
